Today, a multi-agency task force announced a new temporary shelter program in North Dakota for vulnerable individuals who are homeless and who cannot safely stay at existing homeless and domestic violence shelters because they have tested positive for COVID-19, are showing symptoms and awaiting test results, or need to be in quarantine because of recent travel to the state from hotspot areas.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce announced that the North Dakota Development Fund (NDDF) Board voted to extend the initial 30-day loan suspension for an additional two months. The extension suspends all payments for both principal and interest for all outstanding NDDF loans for an additional 60 days, effective April 16.

Effective immediately, Theodore Roosevelt National Park will be closed to recreational use until further notice. The temporary closure includes visitor centers, facilities, trails, and campgrounds. East River Road in Billings County will remain accessible to local residential traffic. The purpose of the park closure is to safeguard the public and slow the spread of COVID-19 in response to guidance from state, county, and local health officials. The health and safety of our visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners is our number one priority.
